Okay, everything had calmed down. That bird thing hadn’t found her yet. Maybe it gave up . . . or maybe it got that boy that told her to run. Either way, she was safe. And Jade hoped that Alex was okay. The crop top bird didn’t attack Alexandrite and went after her and the kid with glasses, maybe because he was wearing Bonnie’s head or something. Morbid as that was . . .

Jade ran her hands through her hair as she looked around Pirate Cove. Pictures on the walls that children drew, tables ready with party hats and plastic utensils. Kind of like the main party room but much smaller. And clearly closed for the time being. The tall jock took in a deep breath and went to peek her head out the door to see if there were any sort of activity going on outside.

Then the sound of static echoes throughout the building that made Jade pull her head back into the Pirate Cove room.

    1:08

"Hello, everyone. This is the night guard speaking. My name is Ada Scheff, and I've managed to rig up a communications system with the materials at hand and the building's internal speakers.”

Isn’t she just grabbing attention from the psychotic animatronics? Wasn’t she putting herself in danger? The things clearly know their way around the place, wouldn’t the know where to go to find this Ada Scheff? Idiot . . .

“Between the cameras and the headset, I've got eyes and ears on most of the restaurant, barring the west hall corner, the gentleman's bathroom, the security office, and the kitchen. They never did get that camera working . . . At some point, I hope to get all of your names. Just in case something unfortunate happens to you . . .”

There was more than just Alexandrite and Jade in there? Then again, that kid from earlier was evidence enough. Her only question was: how many of them were there?

Jade turned around and she noticed the curtain where the stage was hidden had a small opening and she saw something shining between the curtains. Her eyes adjusted quickly to the dark and there was a figure staring right at her. She held her breath and had her back pressed to the wall as she stared at the thing behind the curtain. White teeth, a long face, and one big eye staring at her. She vaguely remembered the one animatronic that stayed in the room she was in, and Jade remembered hearing that it was very temperamental.

And the gruesome rumors was that it was very quick and very violent . . .

    Foxy . . .

“I don't know why anybody would be in here, let alone so many of you. Many of you have probably already noticed that it is exceedingly dangerous.”

    YOU DON’T SAY!!!

“I'll do what I can to warn you when the animatronics are near, but there are a lot of you, and my power supply is limited. Don't turn anything on, keep your eyes and ears open, and if you see eyes in the shadows, run."

And then everything went silent . . .

    Foxy hadn’t moved . . .

Jade was too afraid to move or else the thing would go after her. She knew it could see her. And she assumed it knew she could see it. She raised her hand toward the door handle beside her, her hand shaking and her eyes remained on the toothy figure fifty yards from her. Don’t look away . . . don’t look away . . . look away and you’re dead . . . Her fingers brushed against the handle of the door, then all too quickly and loudly wrapped around it when Foxy twitched.

    Shit . . .

She quickly turned to pull the door open, the screeching noise of metal just behind her gaining closer and closer. She swung it open large enough for her to squeeze through and closed the door shut behind her, Foxy rammed into the door just behind it and started to scratch at the door. Fuck! Fuck! Shit! Jade took in a deep breath and ran when she immediately ran into something and fell into the ground.

    Fuck!

    “Don’t fucking touch—”

    Wait? Alexandrite?

Jade looked to the figure with white and turquoise hair, raising a bat over his head. WHAT THE HELL! Jade swung back onto her knees and caught the bat before he could swing it down and tried to pull it away from him. When she got a better grip of the bat she pushed him as hard enough and put her hand over his mouth. “The hell is wrong with you!?” she hissed.

Alexandrite blinked at her, finally seeing her instead of some crazed figure he didn’t recognize. Jade let out a sigh and looked back at the scratching of the door, and the handle turning and swinging back into place. Shit! It started to figure out how to open the door!

“We have to go!” Jade said and took Alexandrite by his wrist and pulled him deeper into the party room. The door behind them slammed open. “Dammit,” she hissed under her breath. She pulled Alexandrite closer to pushed him toward the stage while she slowed down. “Go to the stage! I’ll distract it!”

“The hell are you talking about!? Distract what—”

“Just DO IT, ALEXANDRITE!” she snapped.

Jade turned her attention back to the clump of red fur coming in as quick as lighting and shifting it’s head left and right for the sight. The thing looked like something of a twitchy crack addict running on adrenaline. It’s twitchy nature making Jade nervous the more she looked at it until it looked right at her. Then her nervousness transformed into sheer terror. It looked like it was heaving; the posture of a crazed psychopath and Jade knew that it wasn’t even human.

She should have stayed home! She should have convinced Alex harder to stay home with her and not risk their lives for some stupid dare!

Foxy was just about to run after her when Jade caught sight of something running in the corner of her eye and ran into one of the chairs at the other end of the party room. Foxy stopped and whipped its head toward some kid with a Bonnie head on. Jade looked back at Foxy, who’s attention was still on the Bonnie head and seemed to have lost interest in Jade. Her heart beat against her chest, hard and fast that beat the air out of her lungs and ringing in her ears.

The noise that thing made was awful, it made her skin crawl and press her hands against her ears before it ran after the Bonnie head. The guy tried to run, but Foxy was faster. So. Much. Faster. It jumped onto the table and leapt at the boy, where they both disappeared behind the table. There was screaming, horrible horrible screaming . . .

Jade stared wide-eyed at the darkness, frozen in her place as she kept hearing the sound of the boy’s screaming. A hand grabbed Jade’s shoulder that made her gasp and turn to Alex. He pulled her up to the stage and motioned for them to hide behind the curtain. Jade could only stare at him with wide-eyes, shaking before Alexandrite helped her up the stage and took her deeper into the back of the stage. Jade didn’t say a word, couldn’t say anything when there’s still screaming outside the stage. She didn’t even realize how quickly her breathing pattern had become until Alexandrite pulled her in to a hug and she could feel her chest rise and fall against him. And against his steady body she shook . . .

How were they going to last until morning . . .?
