Emily groaned in her sleep and rolled onto her back before she woke up. Covered in sweat again . . . her stomach was growling . . . craving for something. She was definitely in the mood to eat some meat. Her mouth watered at the thought until an announcement was made.

"Today we have a very special surprise for you. Because of the events that occurred yesterday, we have decided to be gracious game makers. You all have gifts for you at the cornucopia. Some of you, they are from sponsors, others, they are gracious gifts from the capitol themselves. Never the less, each of you will receive something . . . for a price. Good luck."

A price? Couldn't THAT bad, she thought to herself.

"Get up, dead weights," Markus said and smacked Gryffon and Emily upside the head.

"Bite me, psycho," Emily growled and got on her feet. God, she hoped they had what she needed. Infection cream to get heal the damn zombie bites . . . she touched her wounds that the clown inflicted on her, feeling the horrible burning sensation that stung her. It had been days since those things attacked and it still hurt. Maybe she was poisoned?

Emily helped Gryffon on his feet too. His wounds looked much better, but he still looked like crap. Maybe he had been poisoned too. The clown thing got him too. The only person that looked healthy and not at the edge of death was Markus. Bastard had luck on his side.

They all made their way to the Cornucopia, where they found three boxes. Emily noticed all of them had different names for every alliance in the Games before she found hers, the Cold-Killers alliance. The box was completely locked, there was no way of getting to it.

There was a note on their box. Markus unfolded the paper and read aloud: "The blood of a Brother will reveal what cannot be seen . . ."

Gryffon furrowed his brows. "The hell does that mean?"

Emily's face went completely pale. She had a general good idea of what it meant. Blood . . . blood should be shed in order to open their box. No one had died the past couple of days and the Capitol was becoming impatient. They want people to die. That was why they had been trying to gather the tributes together since the feast.

"Someone has to die . . ." she mumbled.

Markus' eyes lit up at the idea. "So who's it going to be?" he smirked.

Emily swallowed her lump stuck in her throat away and lightly brushed her wounds. She and Gryffon didn't have much time left . . . What if Emily doesn't get what she needed in order to survive . . .? Her body trembled, took in a deep breath, and exhaled slowly.

"Kill those annoying Anti-Career girls . . ." she said and dropped her bag. Emily was in no condition to fight anymore and going against a large alliance full of obnoxious girls would kill her once they attack as a team. She was just too tired to go on anymore. Emily was on the brink of death closer than Gryffon was.

One of them better win. None of the others deserved to win more than her allies.

She would just weigh them down.

If she SOMEHOW managed to come out on top, there was nothing at the end. She thought there was something at the end of the Games if she won. But thinking of it now . . . there really was no point to it. She already had a ton of baggage on her to begin with, adding more to it would just drive her to insanity.

"One of us has to go . . . will you guys do the honor?" she sighed.

"Giving up already, Readhead?" Gryffon raised a brow.

"I'm tired as hell, Score Three . . ." she rolled her eyes. "You guys most likely will need your stuff more than I will," she snapped. "Just fucking kill me and get your damn prizes!"

Markus sighed. "Whatever you say," he rolled his eyes. None of them were ever close to one another. The day that they would have to go against each other was getting closer and they all knew not to be emotionally attached to any of them. They were all naturally detached people to begin with.

Emily's eyes went to Markus as he approached her with his club. She kept herself from trembling terribly, planted her feet firmly to the ground as death was inching closer. Emily closed her eyes and waited for the spikes to hit anywhere. Most likely her head . . . it would be over within seconds. Her life flashed before her eyes.

Her terrible terrible life . . . Her mother breaking her down emotionally, her father molesting her, her first kill of an animal, losing her friends, witnessed death in her district when someone was out of line toward the Peacekeepers . . . there was nothing happy about her life. She was fucked up in the head because of the things she had seen and what she had been through. Going back to District Ten wouldn't be worth the win . . .

     It wasn't worth it . . .

Markus swung his club at her head, blood spilled on their box and threw her off her feet. Her head cracked against the box and dropped dead like a ton of bricks.

     BOOM!

The cannon echoed throughout the arena. Just one less tribute to fight.

Well that was too bad. But Emily was the most logical loss the alliance could have. She had the zombie infection in her and she was poisoned. Considering that she only had the poison cure from sponsors, she would have died within the day and started eating people's brains.

My alliance better freaking win. At least they fight their mutts and take hits like a champ!

I wasn't expecting her to win, but I did want her to since she had the character development for it. But all in all, there really is no reason for her to win. At least that's what makes it interesting. Death is inevitable. I don't regret her death and I feel A LITTLE bad for her death, but at least I can handle her loss.

D'aw, Em'...I feel bad, but I'm also like "nice, she has a terrible life then she just dies. Terrific! :p"
....I'm going to go into Gryff's head for this scenario...but now I have to go read what Pochapal has :p
I don't have time to read through everyone's at the moment, but did anyone really interact with Gryff after this? Just so I know.
